Yuva reaches Singapore!

Yuva reaches Singapore!

Singapore got a taste of Bollywood at the premiere of Mani Ratnam's bilingual Yuva (Aayitha Ezhuthu in Tamil) at the fifth International Indian Film Academy (IIFA).

Ecstatic fans welcomed stars Ajay Devgan, Abhishek Bachchan, Vivek Oberoi, Rani Mukerji and Esha Deol at the premiere. The film also features Kareena Kapoor.

Yuva is about three individuals with contrasting ideologies. Their paths cross and life is not the same thereafter.

Vivek's family -- dad Suresh Oberoi, mom Yashodhara and sister Meghna -- were present in full strength. The actor had endured a leg injury while filming Yuva.

IIFA ambassador Amitabh Bachchan and wife Jaya were there to bless Bachchan Jr as well.

The film has opened to mixed reviews. But high praise comes to Yuva from The New York Times' reviewer Dave Kehr. Kehr acknowledges that the 15-reel drama 'has a sharp political edge that is rare in Hindi-language films, celebrated as they are for their wildly exuberant production numbers and sugary love stories.'

Aayitha Ezhuthu was also screened at the IIFA.
