Esha Deol joined the Ayutha Ezhuthu gang after Simran opted out. Apparently, Simran left because of her problems with the language. Since it was being shot in sync sound, knowledge of Tamil was absolutely essential.

After all the forgettable roles Esha Deol did in several Hindi films, this film could perhaps help her establish herself as a good actress, thanks to Tamil learnt from her mother Hema Malini.
